The GreenImage story starts when I was a kid growing up in Minnesota, I played every sport I could. I thought hockey was my first love until I was in 8th grade and found golf. From that point on, golf was all I wanted to do. I would dream of designing golf courses, and everywhere I went, I would imagine golf holes carved into the landscape. In high school, I took a job on the grounds crew at my local course so I could play more golf. And although I did play more golf, I also discovered a passion for the detailed work of caring for a golf course.
After high school, I decided to pursue my passion for golf in the form of a turfgrass management degree. I was fortunate enough to get an internship at The Legacy Courses at Cragun’s and take part in the construction, grow in, and maintenance of this beautiful, high-end resort course. The internship grew into a full-time role as Assistant Superintendent, and I am grateful to have enjoyed 4 years in that capacity.
After 5 years at Cragun’s, my wife and I decided to move our family to the Twin Cities, so we could be closer to family. I took a job as the Assistant Superintendent at Pheasant Acres Golf Club. I spent 3 years in that capacity, before my promotion to Superintendent. Overseeing the grounds of a busy golf course gave me a ton of hands-on experience building greens, tees, bunkers, etc. The hands-on experience really rejuvenated me and reawakened my passion to find more opportunities to build and be creative. I started to research synthetic turf, and fell in love with the idea of building custom synthetic golf greens.
In the spring of 2010, I decided to take my knowledge in turfgrass and passion for golf and start my own company, GreenImage Lawn & Golfscapes. In my 10 years in business, I have been fortunate to work on many beautiful properties and have prided myself in providing top-of-the-line services. Building greens has always been a part of my business but the path of least resistance was always the lawn maintenance side of my business. Each year, I have had the opportunity to build greens, and continue to research and hone my process. And while it has been a fulfilling journey and an important part of my professional process, time has only deepened my desire to pursue my true passion and focus my energy on the work I truly love: building golfscape masterpieces. I’m thrilled to officially launch GreenImage Golfscapes and share my love of the game and creative talents.
